Are you Prepared for Hurricane Harvey?!

Hurricane Harvey is dangerously approaching the Texas Coast and is an extremely dangerous flood threat for Texas and Louisiana. SanServe Janitorial will be working around-the-clock to ensure that our customers are kept safe and dry.  SanServe Janitorial hopes that you and your love ones stay safe through Hurricane Harvey.

SanServe Janitorial would like to offer some helpful tips how you can safely prevent long term damage after flooding because flood waters not only cause visible damage but also hidden damage to your building.  Dangerous bacteria can grow and prosper from still water and cause you and your employee’s major health problems. After calling your insurance company to see what is covered in your policy, try some of these tips on how to avoid such damage to your building.

Immediately extract water when possible. When water is standing still, it provides a breeding ground for germs and bacteria especially in carpeting.  Once the water is extracted, call your local janitorial company to perform a deep cleaning to your carpets.

Use your air conditioner and if possible, a de-humidifier to reduce moisture by drying out the air inside your home. This is the best way to stop the bacteria from growing inside your building because the bacteria needs humid conditions in order to grow. It can take weeks for flood soaked items to dry.

Properly clean and disinfect the items that came in contact with the flood water within 48 hours, otherwise dispose as much as you can of absorbent material items. This is an important part of water damage clean-up.  If it is not cleaned properly, it can cause the bacteria to hide in them and will affect the quality of air in your building.

Call your janitorial company to properly wash and disinfect walls, floors, shelves and effected items. Your janitorial service provider will take care of your floor care needs and can offer any additional water clean-up service to get your building back to where it needs to be!

This is a great opportunity to clear out the items you no longer need and can start a fresh 2016!  Here is a Spring Cleaning Checklist and a few tips on how to go about spring cleaning your office:

Keep only what is need

Our work spaces tend to be full of… stuff.  So look around and ask yourself, “do I need these or will I be needing it in the near future?” It’s likely you will not so time to toss it!  It will be more productive to have that extra space for yourself and your workers to breathe and move around in.

A clean and organized office is visually pleasing to your clients and visitors…. Don’t forget, your clients may think an office reflects the work you are producing.

Clear desks

Allow yourself a couple minutes at the end of the day to dispose of food containers, wrappers, coffee cups, and any other trash. Then go through the files and paperwork that are still sitting on your desk and sort them, file them, and put them where they need to go. No more “oh, I’ll take care of it tomorrow.”

Paper

Do we really need to print out all those unnecessary reports and old agendas? By scaling back on printing, or printing double-sided when you need a hard copy, you’ll reduce those stacks of paper that only end up piled up on your desk. Plus the trees will thank you!

Sort your inbox

Cleaning out your digital clutter is essential— the more organized your computer/files are, the easier it will be for you to find what you need and be more efficient. From updating contacts, making sure you are operating on the latest software upgrades, uninstalling programs that you do not use, organizing your documents that you’ll need again to the cloud or memory stick and trashing or archiving the rest, to deleting/sorting emails.  Spring comes once a year, and thank goodness so does digital spring cleaning.

Call the professionals

Your cleaning company can take care of the rest, but take extra responsibility for the personal and shared spaces you use on a day-to-day basis. Keeping your office clean and organized will not only help you stay sane and on track, but most importantly, it will keep your productivity level high.

If you are ready to let us take care of the rest, call us for today for a free estimate for your janitorial needs! 1-800-274-8464

It’s time to get your office ready for the holiday season!

Some people think that cleaning the office before a holiday party isn’t all that important. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Holiday parties are essentially morale boosters. You have to show the office at its best, so that your people are proud to be part of your business. A clean office also helps people get into the partying mood.

In keeping with the spirit of the season, we thought we would share a couple cleaning tips for your building during this holiday season.

Make it sparkle

Before the holiday parties, do a deep clean to your office.  Your customers, contractors, salespeople and employees may be more willing to join in the holiday spirit if your facility is clean, shining and inviting. SanServe Janitorial can help make sure that this happens, well before you start decorating for the occasion. Clean windows, dust-free surfaces, spotless restrooms, shiny tile floors and clean carpets will show that you are proud of your building and that you truly want it to be presented in the best light.

Eat, drink and be merry – but also be clean

Certainly, you want your tenants to enjoy and celebrate this holiday season. Most everyone in every office building brings in special food during the holidays (especially sweets!). Take the time to remind them to securely store their treats at the end of the day so that ants and other pests don’t become a problem.

When it comes to party time, you’ll of course want to make sure that floors and carpets are spotless and that any food preparation areas, such as break rooms or kitchens, are sanitized before being used. After the party, your janitorial service can be your best friend. Parties lead to accidental messes, such as spilled food and drinks. A good janitorial service can remove all evidence of holiday partying from your office facility, often before the next business day. Of course, you will want to make sure to notify your cleaning service of any parties, gatherings or other special events that would affect cleaning times.

These holiday cleaning tips should go a long way toward helping your building be the very best it can be, this season and all year-long. SanServe Janitorial is ready to take care of your holiday janitorial needs, call us today 1-800-274-8464

While preparing healthy meals for your family, it is so important to handle food properly and to keep your kitchen appliances clean.   Appliances such as, refrigerators, freezers, ovens and microwaves are used on a daily basis, causing these appliances to easily accumulate grease, grime and then they become breeding grounds for bacteria and germs.

Not to worry, here are a few SanServe tips and tricks on how to keep your kitchen appliances not only hygienically clean, but also to lengthen their lifespan:

REFRIGERATOR

CUT THOSE BAD SMELLS OUT OF YOUR FRIDGE:

ALKA-SELTZER:

Place a tab of Alka-Seltzer in a glass at the back of the fridge to remove odor in a day

VANILLA EXTRACT:

Let 2-3 cotton balls sit in a pool of Vanilla extract on a plate at the back of the fridge

CLEANING UNDER THE FRIDGE:

Get rid of all of the cobwebs, dirt, dust and food droppings that land under the fridge with a yard stick covered by a tube sock.

FREEZER

SPRAY METHOD

Mix equal parts of hot water and vinegar, or 1 qt hot water with 2 tbs baking soda in a spray bottle.  Spray liberally inside of freezer.

CHARCOAL:

Purchase activated charcoal from a pet store, set in freezer to absorb odors.

OVEN

CLEAN A DIRTY OVEN:

When cooking, don't let food bake on and then cool if bubbled over.  Toss salt on spilled food while it is still liquid and after cooling, it will be easy to wipe up.  You can apply this trick to the stove top as well.

Create a solution of 5 T baking soda, 4 drops of Dawn soap and 4 T vinegar into a paste.  Apply to the surface of the oven with a sponge and let sit for 15 minutes. Cut a lemon in half, apply salt and scrub thoroughly with lemon, wipe clean.

STOVE

CLEANING GLASS STOVE TOP

Fill a bowl with hot water and mix with dish soap.  Wet a rag, then wring halfway dry.  Apply baking soda to spots and drip water with rag.  Let sit for 15 minutes and swirl the rag to clean surfacewith the paste.  Dry stovetop and it's good as new.

MICROWAVE

Take a handful of wet paper towels and microwave them for 3-5 minutes.  The steam will soften the grime, making it easier wipe with the paper towels once cooled.

Microwave a bowl of water and vinegar in a microwave safe bowl on high of 2 minute. Again, the steam will help break up any stubborn stains, wipe clean.

DISHWASHER

LEMONADE KOOL-AID

Run a packet of lemonade Kool-Aid in an empty dishwasher.  The citric acid will clean stains and lime deposits quickly.

TANG:

Use 1/2 of Tang instead of detergent and the the empty dishwasher on the normal cycle to avoid buildup.

Throughout Texas we have been experiencing extremely dangerous and life-threatening weather conditions this spring. To be honest, I never expected to witness this much rainfall in the Gulf Coast area which is causing many of our customers to call in to help with their water cleanup caused by flooding.  SanServe Janitorial has been working around-the-clock to ensure that our customers are kept safe and dry.

I came across this hilarious commercial and yes, this is the worlds worst janitor but it does remind you of the importance of hiring a fully insured cleaning company.

I know we are always looking to save where we can and price is an important factor when choosing a cleaning company but you’ve heard the saying, “If it’s too good to be true, it probably is“. The money you would save by hiring a non-insured/bonded company or individual could end up costing you big time in the long run!

Companies that are not properly insured often offer lower rates because they do not have to worry about the premiums that insured companies have to pay out such as SanServe Janitorial.   If you hire a company without the proper insurances, you as a business owner can be liable for any theft, injuries, or damages done by the cleaner.  SanServe Janitorial will take that responsibility off of you by bonding and insuring all of our employees, including a ten-million dollar umbrella liability coverage and workers compensation, giving you a peace of mind while we are in your facility.  SanServes employees are highly dependable, responsible, and love exceeding your expectation while cleaning your facility.  In addition to insurance and bonding, all of our employees are drug tested and have complete background checks to keep your mind at ease.

If you are looking for a fully insured/bonded & trustworthy janitorial company, contact SanServe Janitorial today. We’ll be the last cleaner you’ll ever hire... Call 1-800-274-8464 for a free quote!

Making hand washing fun for the classroom!

There is no way around it, our kiddos are notorious for having germy little fingers.  Unfortunately, while they are at school, they are less likely to wash or sanitize their hands after using the restroom, before lunch, and after recess….. Perhaps it is because they don’t have us there to nag.  If you think about it, students spend the entire day in such close proximity and when you have at least half of them not washing their hands throughout the day,  it’s no wonder why student lose nearly 22 million days of school per year.

As parents, we are constantly staying on top of clean hygiene with our own little ones but I couldn’t imagine trying to stay on top of entire classroom of kids.  It’s time to come together as parents, teachers, and staff to start promoting healthy hand washing habits to reduce the spread of these nasty germs that spread like a wildfire among these children. Here are a few fun activities that teachers and school staff can use to start getting students excited about washing their hands:

Coloring and Activity Projects
Allow the kids have a little fun during this lesson, it will keep them entertained and they will also get the visual of the importance of keeping germs away.  Here is a link to “Henry the Hand” free printable coloring and activity book.  This is a great start!

Explore the Campus
Set aside 15 minute out of the day to take the class to different sink locations throughout the campus.  The kids will look forward to not only taking a break from their school work but you will have them excited to explore the different areas of their campus…. Just another simple fun way to get them into the habit of washing their hands.

Reward
Encourage clean hand washing habits by coming up with a reward system.  Use a chart that they can earn stickers after they practice their good habits. Once they fill their card, offer fun incentives, such as a prize out of the “mystery box”, a homework pass, wear your favorite hat day, etc.  Be as creative as you would like, kids will love earning their rewards!

Oh my, glitter
Glitter is a great way to show the kids how much effort you should use to properly remove germs.  Since we cannot see germs, using glitter to symbolize germs will allow them to see the different techniques that are used to remove all “glittery germs”….. Let them try different variations of the process, warm vs. cold water, soap vs. no soap, etc.  This will allow them to see which method works best for germ removal.

This is a great start to keeping our kids healthy and showing that healthy practices can be fun. The more we encourage our kids/students to be enthusiastic over keeping their hands clean, the more likely they will keep germ-free hands and that will reduce the illnesses spreading in the classrooms.

Spring Cleaning isn’t just for your home, it is essential to bring the same tradition to your work space!  We spend so much of our time at the office and I am constantly writing about the positive aspects of clean and organized surroundings.  Not only are you more productive while your surroundings are clean and organized but it also enhances the health of you and your colleagues.  Here are a few simple tips and a checklist to make Spring Cleaning your office a little easier.

Don’t overwhelm yourself:

Start small with a plan in place.  No matter the size of your office, dedicating a certain amount of time per day to complete the items on your check-off list will contribute to getting the entire job done.

Avoid clutter:

Keep only the essentials that you use throughout the day within arm’s reach; i.e. computer, pens, note pad, etc.  For the items that aren’t used as often, keep them close by in your drawer…… Of course this means it’s time to clean out and organize your drawers as well!! Stop using your drawers as an “out of sight, out of mind” filing system, it’s inefficient.  If there are things cluttering up your office that you simply never use or you don’t need, get rid of it because it makes a significant difference when you have plenty room to work.

Digitally clean

Cleaning out your digital clutter is essential— the more organized your computer/files are, the easier it will be for you to find what you need and be more efficient. From updating contacts, making sure you are operating on the latest software upgrades, uninstalling programs that you do not use, organizing your documents that you’ll need again to the cloud or memory stick and trashing or archiving the rest, to deleting/sorting emails.  Spring comes once a year, and thank goodness so does digital spring cleaning.

Keep it going:

Find the time to keep up the CLEAN!  Once you finally get your office cleaned and organized, take the time to keep it up by creating a checklist that you can stick to throughout the year and spend the last few minutes of the day putting things away so you are ready to walk in the next morning to start your day with a fresh clean beginning.

As a child, I would have never thought that I would be in the janitorial industry, but it has truly turned into my passion and I love it.  I have always felt that when our surroundings are clean and organized, we are more clear, creative and efficient in our productivity in whichever environment you are in.  So how do we implement this into our children, our future because I can’t tell you how many times I found myself doing the things around the house just to get it done faster.  Eventually there came a time that I realized you have to give your kids these chores to implement these valuable lessons that they will use throughout their lives.  When children help out with daily chores, not only will it help with their growth development but it gives them a sense of belonging within the family.

So, how do we steer our children into the right direction with finding the value of tidiness?!?!?  I have lined out some tips that I hope you find useful.

  • Start young and make it fun.  Kids need to know at a young age that they are responsible for their belongings and surroundings and they should be praised when they are taking good care of their things. So even though it is a chore and it must be done, try to make cleaning fun for your kids.  Try to be creative while they are young by inventing a game, a song, or a silly dance to try to make it a tad more enjoyable for them, this is a great way to show them that responsibilities are necessary and can be approached with a positive manner.

  • Once you start teaching your children chores around the house, make sure you teach them that they need to take care of “their” responsibilities. Kids need to understand that they are not “helping” you, they need to know that it’s their toys that need to be picked up, it is their bed that needs to be made and it’s their clothes that need to make it into the laundry. This isn’t mommy’s job, mommy works hard to maintain the household as it is!  Remember, it is their job and their responsibility and this certainly need to be taught early on.

  • Make sure they know the rules and instructions. Kids don’t come into this world with a toilet bowl brush in one hand and cleaner in the other hand.  It’s your job as a parent to teach your children not only how to clean, but how to be responsible.  Create easy steps that your child can understand for each chore task.  If they are really young, take photos of the sequence that you want them to follow.  You can even make it fun by turning it into a project and let them help you as you explain how to do the job.

  • Be realistic and remember they are still kids!  Assign jobs that a child is capable of doing with success according to their age because kids love to impress you.  When they are doing a good job of their capable chores, they will push harder when they see you constantly praising them. So limit cleaning sessions to short bursts at first because you want to set them up for success.  These early lessons of responsibility will reflect in your children in time, be patient.

Chore Chart.  This is my happy zone… It’s organized, planned and perfected!   Create a chore chart and have it displayed where it will be seen regularly. You can rotate weeks, pull chores from a jar, whatever works for your family.  Set weekly goals and incentives for all of the chores at the end of the week, have a reward for all the completed chores that they were able to accomplish. When children are older, apply this method to allowances.

Never stop praising! I cannot say this enough, kid’s love and thrive on praise.  When they successfully accomplish a task, praise them like crazy but if they weren’t able to complete the chore to satisfaction, figure out why and walk them through the steps to figure out why. Were the instructions not clear? Was the job unrealistic? Or did the child not give their 100% to do the job? Figure out where they fell short so you can guide them in a positive direction.

Being in this business, I know one thing is for sure, it doesn’t matter what age you are or who you clean for, everyone deserves to know that they are appreciated for the cleaning they do.

We all at SanServe Janitorial love this time of the year!  Now that we see the weather dropping into low numbers, I think it’s safe to say that we are ready to start pulling out the sweaters, drinking that long awaited Starbucks pumpkin spice latte while breaking out your fall décor……. Yes, autumn has arrived in Southeast Texas. As we start ramping up for our colder months, this is always a good time to start inspecting your office building for any maintenance issues before the winter months.  SanServe Janitorial wants you and your facility to be prepared to help with an easy spring cleaning and to keep cost down during the cold month to come.

 – To keep your and your employees cozy by maintaining a comfortable temperature without making your heat bill sky rocket during the winter.   First, check all the doors and windows to make sure the weather strips and seals do not need to be replaced.  The cost to replace the seal or weather strips does not even come close to the cost of your energy bill!  Another great way (our favorite) to keep the warm in is to embrace the sunlight!  Not only will this help you kick the winter blues, it will also add natural warmth by letting the warm light beams in.  So open all of those blinds and pull back those curtains this winter!

 – Make sure your gutters are clear and free of any debris. Leaves, stems and other objects will end up clogging the downspouts which will can create the water to flow over into the foundation of your building or roof. This water buildup often leads to mold and usually rot, which is such an expensive repair especially when it is so easy to avoid this from occurring by being prepared.

– Check to see you are in need of replacing any of your window screens.  Take them down during winter to avoid the harsh winter conditions, replace the ones that are in need and clean the rest of them with soap and warm water. You can keep your screens in good condition, extending their usage by following these steps with and storing them in trash bags so they can remain clean throughout the winter.

Following these tips will not only keep your employees happy but will also keep your wallet happy!!!

There is nothing better than walking into you place of business and feeling like you are at home!  If you think about it, you spend 40+ hours a week at work and we know how important it is to make your office setting inspiring as possible.  SanServe Janitorial would like to share a few tips to transform your office into an inviting place for your customers and colleagues:

First Impressions: You know what they say, first impressions can make or break you!  You only have one opportunity to make a first impression with a customer or a perspective client, whether it comes from a phone call or when they walk into your place of business.  Take a moment to walk through the doors that your customers would first walk through, does it express the level of
professionalism, organization, and cleanliness?  Putting your best foot forward in your lobby is the key to making a positive first impression.

Front Desk: The reception desk should always remain uncluttered and clean. Limit the items on the front desk and try not to have any too many decorations, you certainly do not want to take focus away from the person who greets your guest, hopefully with a nice smile as well!

Must Haves: We have all been there before, you find yourself in need of something in the middle of your work day.  It might just be a tissue, nail file or some Advil to relieve that pounding headache!!  Either way, having some the essentials on hand for employees or customers is a great way to show them that you are willing to go above and beyond for them, it’s extremely hospitable. So be sure to stock up on items such as pens/pencils, mints or candies, safety pins, hand sanitizer or lotion, nail files, First Aid Kit and plenty pain reliever!

Bathrooms: We all can appreciate a clean, well-stocked bathroom!  You must go beyond covering up the smells of a restroom, it must be cleaned and sanitized properly and there should never be a smell. SanServe Janitorial uses highly effective cleaners and plenty elbow grease to clean your restrooms. Honestly, your restroom shouldn't smell any different than your office, adding a light fragrance is always a plus as well!

These are extremely simple tips that can help you transform into a more comfortable place for your employees, guests and most importantly, yourself!  For more information on keeping your facility looking its best, Call SanServe Janitorial for a free quote 1-800-274-8464

We now have 2 reported cases of the Ebola virus that was caught in the United States, many Americans have become concerned about the Ebola Virus and certainly the risk of travel.

Should we shy away from traveling, or do we become aware of the Ebola virus and learn how we can reduce the risk of catching this awful virus? SanServe Janitorial would like to share some facts about Ebola and offer tips for staying healthy while traveling.

The worse of the Ebola outbreak is in West Africa and the CDC has issued travel warnings in effect for Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia.  It is highly encouraged to avoid nonessential travel to these nations.

Since Ebola is not a casual contact-acquired infection, you are not at risk for Ebola infection unless you are in straight contact with bodily fluids of someone that has symptoms of Ebola such as fever, vomiting, and cough.

The United States practice a very strict infection control with all public workers which helps control the spread and outbreak that we see over in Africa.  With these practices in place, the chance that you will become exposed to Ebola is very slim.

It’s obvious that no one enjoys being sick during or after travel but with the recent Ebola victim, you really have no idea how could be carrying this fatal illness. I read an article in the New York Times that said Ms. Vinson called the CDC prior to her travels and I am shocked that they actually let her board that flight, putting all of the passengers at risk of catching Ebola.  So since we really have no idea who could be carrying the Ebola virus, we think it is extremely important to take extra steps to avoid coming into contact with Ebola, especially while you are traveling.  SanServe Janitoral would like to share some tips for preventing Ebola and some of the more common travel illnesses.

Wash and keep on washing! While traveling, you absolutely cannot wash or sanitize your hands enough. Touching your face with these nasty germs on your hands is the quickest way to infect yourself!

Be careful with what you put in your mouth. If you are traveling out of the United States, especially to higher-risk areas like Africa, Mexico and the Caribbean, the food and water can easily be contaminated. Stick with foods that are freshly cooked and super-hot. I would even be cautious of the ice or ice cubes in your drinks – and use bottled water only (even to rinse when you brush)!

A shot of Pepto anyone?  Although I would never recommended going overboard, taking a shot of Pepto everyday can actually help the start of the usual traveler stomach bugs.

Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water but don’t stop there – use a saline nasal solution. The dry cabin air can make the membrane lining of your nose more vulnerable to illnesses.

Avoid a sick seatmate. If you find your neighboring passenger to be a germ dispenser, try asking the flight attendant if it would be possible to move.  Of course this isn’t always an option, so I would recommend traveling with a face mask — you can find those at any drug store.

Be a germaphobe! Load your carry-on or handbag with disinfectant wipes and use them to wipe down remote control devices, tray tables, seat arms and TV touch screens.  Pretend that everything is contaminated with Ebola and disinfect everything.  I always say, traveling is a good time to give in to your inner germaphobe tendencies!!

While we are trying not to panic over Ebola Outbreak, by following these steps will tremendously reduce the risk of coming in contact with the Ebola Virus or any other illness while traveling.

Keep in mind, SanServe Janitorial would be more than happy to keep your business clean while you are away!  Call us today for a free quote 1-800-274-8464

My heart breaks over the deaths caused by the recent outbreak of Ebola, the dangers of catching this awful virus has become more apparent as we see cases start to hit our home in the US because it is obvious that the Ebola strain does not discriminate when it chooses its victim.  It has attacked the young, the elders and everyone in between, that is why it is critical that you take additional protection to disinfect your home and work place to prevent Ebola or any type of viruses from spreading. SanServe Janitorial has been paying close attention to this outbreak and we found this great article with some Q & A’s regarding the Ebola virus: CNN.COM EBOLA OUTBREAK.  With knowledge of the Ebola outbreak, hopefully we can protect ourselves from contracting this virus.

Keep in mind, on average most adults spend at least eight hours per day at their job, often with no knowledge of how well the surfaces are cared for or sanitized.  Disinfecting your office on a regular basis will help control illnesses from spreading around.  Diversity, a Jonson & Johnson Company supplies many disinfecting products that are beneficial to maintain a healthy work place. A good start would be to provide alcohol-based sanitizer products throughout your facility and keeping additional janitorial products for your employees to easily access (anti-bacterial wipes, antibacterial soap, Lysol, etc.), also increasing your janitorial services to all high traffic area can reduce the risk of transmitting Ebola or other illnesses among employees.

Here are a few tips that SanServe Janitorial recommends to reduce the possibility of contracting Ebola.  Follow these simple steps to keep Ebola and other illnesses away from your commercialindustrialmedical or corporate facility.

  • Wash your hands.

By washing your hands often, it will help protect you from germs.  You can also keep hand sanitizer handy.

  • Avoid having close contact.

Avoid having close contact with people that may appear to be sick. If you are sick, keep your distance from others to help protect them from getting sick as well.

  • Stay home if you are sick.

Staying home not only helps your body rest, which will help you recover faster, but it also allows you to keep your germs to yourself and not spreading the illness to others.

  • Avoid touching your mouth, nose or eyes.

Illnesses can spread so easily when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches their mouth, eyes or nose.

  • Cover your mouth and nose.

Use a tissue to cover your mouth and while coughing, sneezing, or nose blowing and immediately throw the tissue away and wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.

  • Maintain healthy habits.

Keep your immune system strong and resilient by sleeping adequate hours, exercise often, drink plenty of water, and eat nutritious food.

SanServe Janitorial can help protect you and your employees from Ebola and other illnesses because it isn’t enough to make sure that your lobby is sparkly clean and the trash cans are emptied, not having the right sanitation measures can result in compromising the health of your people. I know what you may be thinking from reading the title, but this is not an article that is meant to make you feel bad about yourself in any way, promise. A lot of people, who work normal desk jobs and stay in their teeny tiny cramped offices all day, have a difficult time keeping it clean.

This is completely understandable, when it’s taken into account that you have to work to the best of your ability and pay no attention to the trash in your office.  That is totally okay because there special janitors out there who work and clean strictly for offices and industries.  Janitor services are really needed in any place where people stay for an extended period of time, besides their own homes of course.

The janitorial services are doing the job that they are doing for a reason, and that reason is that they want to help out anyone that they can and clean up their messes, to clear out the clutter in their offices and work spaces in general.  Most people hear the word "janitor" and their minds instantly jump to the thought of a creepy old man with a wonky eye rolling a trash can with wheels down the hallway of a school. Yes, there are janitors like that, and they are terrifying. But, that's not what we're talking about here.

It is also a belief that all janitors hate their jobs, and all of the people that are around them while they are working.  This is also not true.  Janitors take pride in keeping everyone's work space clean, and giving them a proper environment to do their work and earn their money.  All these stereotypes of janitors need to be put to rest and never awakened again, because they are not helping anyone and they are most certainly not true, actually they couldn't be farther from the truth.  If you want all of the stereotypes that you know about janitor to be proven wrong and you need someone available at all times to clean your work space, it might be a good idea to hire an office janitor today.

Because no one deserves to be stuck in a dirty office space all day, especially when it can’t be helped that the space isn't clean at all times.  Get rid of the clutter in your work space, and hire an industrial janitor as soon as you can. Call us for a free quote 1-800-274-8464

From time to time, we get calls from potential customers that are shopping around for their cleaning services, hoping to find the bottom dollar. I will be the first to admit, I love a good deal but there are some services where the cheapest price isn’t always the best deal, and I would like to tell you the top reasons why!

·         The company could be using illegal immigrants and paying them below minimum wage or under the table.  This means they are not providing background checks, and the safety of your business could be at risk.  SanServe Janitorial conducts a mandatory DISA background check and drug test prior to hiring.  We also take pride on being able to offer our staff pay rates that attract and retain the best quality employees to meet or exceed your expectations.

 ·       Chances are, they are not bonded and insured. If something were to happen to them while they were on your property or let’s say if an item is stolen or broken; you are responsible for taking care of the damages. SanServe Janitorial and all of our employees are bonded and insured, including a ten-million dollar umbrella liability coverage and workers compensation.

·         Low proposals often reflect that the service will have cheap equipment, low end cleaning products, and unskilled employees who will provide less than professional service. When the bid is enormously lower than the others, it often means that corners are being cut in order to make a profit. We know what it takes to get the job done right because we are a specialty contractor and we have been providing janitorial service to the commercial, industrial, and petrochemical industry for over 50 years. This experience has allowed us to develop technical expertise, systems, and the ability to train personnel to facilitate services as it relates to these industries.  That is why we are able to exceed our customer’s expectations.

Most well established cleaning companies will rarely be the lowest bid proposal, they have invested in the training, equipment, and high end cleaning products in order to provide you with the high level of service that you would expect. Everyone at SanServe Janitorial prides ourselves on building long lasting relationship with our customers! If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact us at 1-800-274-8464 or submit a quick quote!

Consistency is the key to providing quality janitorial services. We gear our services to meet each individual customer’s needs by establishing expected specifications and developing a list of what has to be cleaned on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. This checklist provides a guideline for our staff and generates the inspection list for supervisors and management to use during inspections.

SanServe Janitorial visits every single customer on a regular basis to inspect the level of our cleaning. These unexpected, random inspections allow us to observe our cleaning services on any given day to ensure that absolutely nothing slips through the cracks! Our inspections are customized to your specifications, assuring that we are fulfilling our obligations and satisfying our customer’s needs.

It is our belief that it is important to measure quality often to assure the consistently high level of service that SanServe Janitorial provides.  These are our standards of inspections:

  • Daily inspections (depending on the number of days you have service) by the “lead” that is assigned to your account.
  • Reoccurring inspections by the full-time Area Supervisor.  These usually take place during and after the cleaning process.  We check in with our customers either verbally or through the communications log that is provided to every customer.  Written inspections are conducted once per month with evaluations.
  • Weekly walk-through inspections from the Area Manager that is over your account.  The Area Manager will do a thorough walk-through and will touch base with the customers to discuss any issues or concerns at that moment, taking immediate corrective actions.

Cleaning isn't easy, but it's our passion. Since 1963, we have been able to provide quality janitorial service for thirty of the upper Gulf Coast’s major petrochemical plants and refineries, as well as numerous banks, medical facilities, and commercial buildings.   We know the importance of having a reliable, efficient commercial cleaning service, and we work very hard to ensure that your workplace is maintained to the level that you expect.  Call us for a free quote at 1-800-274-8464

Frequently scheduled floor care is so important for maintaining a clean environment for your customers and employees.  Floor scrubbing and buffing, as well as strip and wax refinishing can be done by Sanserve Janitorial’s highly trained floor technicians.  Here are a few tips to keep your vinyl floors lasting in between your scheduled floor maintenance.

Always sweep or dust mop your floors, this should be done daily.

Place floor mats inside of every entrance to your building. This will help capture dirt off of everyone’s shoes as they enter the building.

You should only use cold water to mop vinyl floors and never use hot water. Use a mild floor cleaner and follow the manufacturer's recommended directions. Once the mop water becomes too, dump out your mop bucket and refill it with fresh water and cleaner. Also, change your mops regularly and would recommend using cotton or cotton/rayon blend mop heads.

Avoid using any of the following cleaners on a waxed floor, as these cleaners will dull floors over time.

  • Pine-sol
  • Ammonia
  •  Bleach
  • Powerful cleaner/degreasers
  • Solvents or any other strong cleaners

If you would like to start a floor care program, call or e-mail us today!  We would be more than happy to gear a floor plan to meet your needs!
